THROUGH UPS AND DOWNS

Hey guys, We just came off a big week in the Estonian League.

We faced Tartu with our backs against the wall, not only because we lost to Tartu at home but also because we lost to Tarvas earlier in the year. We had to get this win to finish 1st in the regular season. As I expected, Tartu played zone/match up zone and I think we were both a little tired from playing in Lithuania. We’ve seen their zone before, so we knew what to expect. We started off the game aggressive and were able to keep the intensity going throughout the game to pull off the win. They made a little run towards the end of the game, but we still managed to pull it off.

I had a decent game with 17 points and 5 rebounds, but I was a bit disappointed with my lack of focus on a couple defensive possessions and with my shooting from deep. I took good shots, so I know they would fall eventually, and they did fall the second game this past week. Our second game was against Tarvas, a team that is a little shook from losing two of their main players. We know what to expect from Tarvas, they will give their best shot but have a wild run and gun style. We started off really well and took a 19 point lead, but unfortunately, we lost focus and they made back to back 3’s. After that, it was a dog fight. They had the momentum and 5 shooters on the floor, so you never know how things will go. Fortunately for us, we were able to stick together and keep plugging away. We fought till the end and got a win.

I had a solid performance with 13 points and 11 rebounds, but I still feel like I could have done better. I’m not sure where my game was lacking, but I know I could have done more. Next week we have 4 games, so I will try to post sometime Tuesday to let you know how my week went. Saturday we play at Tartu and the game will be live on delhi.ee if you can’t make it, be sure to tune in!
