MOLDOVEANU LEADS U-BANCA TRANSILVANIA PAST HOME FAVORITE SIBIU IN THE ROMANIAN CUP QUARTERFINALS!

Romanian Cup Final 8 hosts Sibiu gave Cluj a tough time this evening, perhaps more than the final score shows it, but Cluj pull through thanks to long range heroics late in the game.

Depite having homecourt advantage, Sibiu only managed to finish the third quarter tied up at 26 points for each team, losing the other three quarters to Cluj.

In the 88 – 70 win, Vlad Moldoveanu shot a cool 6 of 11 for 21 points, went 6 of 6 from the charity stripe and almost muscled his way to a double double with 9 rebounds in 33 minutes of play. As both him and the team initially noted, the quarterfinal against Sibiu really did feel like a final but now must focus on the next match-up in the semifinal against LNBM second place occupant Steaua CSM EximBank Bucuresti in a duel that will pit Moldoveanu against longtime friend Cameron Long for the third time this season.
