RECAP: STELMET BC – BARCELONA

It’s not Halloween yet but oh my! what a thriller we had in Barcelona last night.

Stelmet Zielona Gora started off strong in the first quarter, as they’ve done in the past few weeks, taking the first quarter 20 to 19. Barcelona responded the way any great team would but couldn’t manage to break away by half time, leading only 43 to 37. After battling through the third quarter with Barcelona keeping it’s single digit advantage, things got extremely fired up in the fourth as Stelmet finally got back on top 68 to 66 with about 3 minutes on the clock.

Both teams exchanged punches but a three point shot by Barcelona’s Tomas Satoransky with 45 seconds to go proved to be the tipping point in their favor and eventually lead to a win for Barca.

Vlad had a monster of a game with 14 points, on a red hot 3 of 3 from beyond the arc, while also getting 4 rebounds and chipping in a steal in 23 minutes of play time, thus proving once again that he is more than ready for the prime time, no matter whom the opponent is.

After the game, Vlad had this quote for Euroleague.net on how he perceived the evening in Barcelona:

It was a tough game, but we believed in our chance to beat Barcelona. Unfortunately, this is the second close game that we lose in the final minute. We believe in ourselves and will just keep working hard to get better. Congratulations to Barcelona for the win.
